Auricular Acupuncture for Stress Relief Support...
NADA is an acronym for “National Acupuncture Detoxification Association.” * It is an internationally recognized treatment protocol using ear acupuncture that effectively helps to reduce stress levels in people experiencing crisis, grief, work stress, home stress, life transition, detoxification or general over-stimulation in your day to day life.
The session will support your nervous system, calm/soothe emotions and support the organ systems that are affected by chronic or acute stress. It can help you in connecting with your body, slowing down the fight-flight response, grounding/centering your mind and supporting you to walk through your life with increased clarity.
Like many modalities, the benefits experienced from this type of session are cumulative. You will notice over time that the benefits last longer and are held deeper in your body. Sometimes it can take a session or two to find comfort with the process if acupuncture is new to you.
Once the pins are placed and you are comfortable, you can relax...working with your breath. At any point during the session, you are welcome to indicate that you are 'done' and ready to go. Typically the pins will be left in 30-45 minutes. If you find that your ears are too sensitive for the full protocol, it can be modified for you. Sometimes an additional point on the head (face or scalp) may be added as necessary for further support.
Benefits include:
• Increased calmness and reduced agitation
• Elevates mood and feelings of well being
• Relief from stress and emotional trauma
• Can help reduce PTSD symptoms
• Improves sleep, digestion and energy levels
• Discovery of inner quiet and strength
• Easier connection with counseling and an improved intention for recovery
For further information, to organize a circle or to find out when the next community NADA circle is being offered, please contact me @ slwafler@gmail.com or follow on facebook @ www.facebook.com/kamloopsNADA
There is no intake or discussion required as part of this treatment so people who are seeking quiet support or who are feeling easily over-whelmed tend to find this approach a more comfortable one.
