Shawna L. Wafler
B.A., R.Ac., R.TCMP (Registered TCM Practitioner)
Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma
Reiki Master (USUI/Tibetan & Holy Fire traditions)
Curious by nature, I've always had an interest in healing and helping people. My academic training included Psychology, Criminology, Horticulture and the Sciences. After finishing my degree at SFU, my desire to explore and learn new things led me to the East Coast of Taiwan where I taught English. There were so many amazing seeds that were planted in my experiences there that eventually led me to studying Oriental Medicine.
In 2009, I began my studies in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, B.C. Becoming a licensed Acupuncturist in 2013, I started my business Sacred Treasures Health. While growing my practice, I completed the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma program at Pacific Rim College.
In the Fall of 2015, I returned to Kamloops, my hometown, to be closer to family. I have been working hard to continue to grow as a practitioner and nourish my practice. In 2021, I completed my TCM Herbalist licensing to earn my registration as a TCM Practitioner.
- Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (2021) with CTCMA of BC
- Holy Fire Reiki Master (2018)
- Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma (PRC - 2014)
- Registered Acupuncturist (2013) with CTCMA of BC
- Certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist with National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (2012)
- Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master (2008)
- Bachelor of Art - Psychology Major, Criminology Extended Minor (SFU - 2004)
I am honoured to practice medicine in a way that approaches health as a dynamic system greater than the sum of its parts and acknowledges that each person's state of health and wellness is an ongoing process. I do my best to provide individualized support to my patients in a creative and collaborative way.
I look forward to having an opportunity to walk with you on your healing journey and to help empower wellness in your life.
Be well,
Shawna
